Sarah Assaad is a fourth year at UC Davis majoring in Theatre and minoring in Mathematics. In 2015, she made her debut at UC Davis inThe Government Inspector and most recently appeared in The Bluest Eye. Sarah is excited for the audience to meet the powerful Daisy Violet.
Naveen Bhat is a fifth-year Theatre and Dance and Cinema and Digital Media double major at UC Davis, returning for the second season of Ground & Field Theatre Festival in Daisy Violet The Bitch Beast King. They have appeared in Boy at Big Idea Theatre Company; Swimmersand Heathers The Musical at Studio 301 Productions.
Sophie Brubaker is a second-year student at UC Davis and thrilled to be in Ground & Field Theatre Festival. She has a fun little dream to act as her career, and some of her previous roles include one of three divas in Boxed Up: The Musical, Rae in the Unfortunates, and Evelyn in the Sky in the Deep book trailer. She loves and appreciates you lots.
Anne Homer is a second year English and Theater double major. She has appeared in productions of Clue and Les Minserables, as well asnumerous speech and poetry competitions. This is Anne’s first debut withUC Davis and she is thrilled to have the opportunity to be a part of the Ensemble this year for such a growing cause.

Sam Collier (playwright) is a playwright and poet. Other plays include A Hundred Circling Camps(2018 Goodman Playwrights Unit) and Thing with Feathers. She is the 2017-19 Writer-in-Residence with the National Writers Series of Traverse City, where she teaches in a high school writing program. MFA: University of Iowa.
Lisa Quoresimo (director, GFTF Founding Director) is assistant professor of musical theatre at Southern Utah University. She is an internationally produced composer and playwright, and an active director and performer. Her work has been seen at Berkeley Repertory Theatre (West Coast Premiere of An Octoroon), Shotgun Players, and the Brava Theatre, and she served as Artistic Director of the Kairos Theatre in New York City for many years. Heracademic publications include “Charlotte Charke, A Shilling, and aShoulder of Mutton: The Risks of Performing Trauma” in Theatre Topics (Nov 2016), “Joy and Meaning in Theatre Games” in Analog GameStudies (2015), and a forthcoming chapter in “Hamilton: History, Hip-Hop and Politics: Essays on the Afterbirth of a Nation.” She received her Ph.D. in Performance Studies from UC Davis in spring of 2018 and holds an M.A. from Carnegie Mellon University. She has also taught on the faculties of NYU and the Manhattan School of Music.
Charles Lavaroni (assistant director, ) is a junior studying Theater and English. Favorite recent credits include: Max Jacobs, Porter in On the Twentieth Century at Davis Shakespeare, Pippin in Pippin; Man in Near Love Songs at GFTF 2017; Queen Elizabeth in Richard III; Jackson in Gilbraltar; Lady Macbeth in Macbeth; Brick in Cat on a Hot Tin Roof; and Cornelius, u/s Ophelia in Hamlet at San Francisco Shakespeare. Stephanie Nielsen (Stage Manager) is a sophomore at UC Davis working towards degrees in managerial economics and theatre and dance. She has been dancing and performing for over 10 years. She is grateful to be able to stage manage Brisé and Daisy Violet The Bitch Beast King in this year’s festival.

About
Theatre and Dance ensemble (a Registered Student Organization with UC Davis Center for Student Involvement) is a coalition of graduate and undergraduate students at UC Davis engaged in projects that support student performances through promotion and production and serve as the advocacy group for undergraduate and graduate students in Dramatic Arts and Performance Studies. With guidance from key faculty in related departments, and support from stakeholders in the larger community, Theatre and Dance ensemble endeavors to fulfill its mission in the following three areas: 1. Support students through audiences and community engagement. We believe that research in theatre, dance, and performance requires a vital, active, and engaged audience and that the cultivation of such an audience is itself an intrinsic element of the artform. 2. Advocate for undergraduate and graduate students studying theatre, dance, and performance. Empowering student involvement in performance curation and course programming. 3. Provide production support for independent graduate or undergraduate student performances, in collaboration with the Department of Theatre and Dance.
